History

The history of Simpsons dates back to 1910, a far cry from the fast-moving world of today.

In the early years we produced a range of food products, from Lemocreme (lemon curd) to mincemeat, jelly crystals, temperance wines and of course our Christmas Pudding which we still produce today. The products we make today are very different to those of 100 years ago, but our values of quality, innovation, and unrivalled customer service still prevail.

William Simpson, our founder, initially supplied his products to local grocers, but word quickly spread about the quality and variety of what he had to offer!

In recent decades we have developed many new products and packaging formats, enabling us to develop a broad range of own brand and private label products.

Simpsons is still a family run business, led by two third generation Simpsons, brothers William and Andrew.

They have overseen a transformation of the business in recent years, putting us in the strongest possible position for the many challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, both in the UK and across our thriving export business.

Andrew and William still play a hands-on, active role in our business, ensuring that the principles their grandfather introduced to the business 100 years ago remain today.
